Hi, I'm Jenn!

I'm looking to make some new friends, and write some fun stories with cool people. I’m in EST, cis female, 28, and I’m looking for a partner who plays primarily male/masc characters. Your IRL gender is not important to me. Let's build a cast of interesting and colorful characters, and escape the boring, mundane world we live in for a while!A bit about me: I love birds, tea, cosplay, videogames, D&D, anime, all that nerd shit. I shout about capitalism a lot, and have been told I have a dry sense of humor but a good one.

Here’s what I'm looking for

  • 21+ no exceptions. I'm not comfortable writing with anyone younger.

  • Dynamic Post Length I will write one paragraph per post on average. Sometimes this will be 3 sentences, sometimes it will be 8 paragraphs. I find a post length requirement to be counterintuitive to the flow of the story. I like dialogue and character interactions, so shorter, quicker posts flow better. *See rant below.

  • Multiple Characters are my jam. If you want to play mains and then have a bunch of side characters, that's cool too. If you come to me with an ensemble cast of your well-written, developed OCs, I will love you forever.

  • Romance Let me be clear here: between the characters, not us. I'm a sucker for a good sappy love story, especially if it's a slow burn.

  • Male or Masc Mains I like to play female mains and wish to play them against males, NBs, or masc women.

  • Semi-Rapidfire I prefer shorter, quicker replies to posting once a week. I'll post at least once a day (potentially many times a day if I'm into it) and warn in advance if I'll be busy for multiple days or need a break.

  • OCs Only I will not play canon characters as mains, but they may pop up as side characters. If you want to play a canon, I may be open to it depending on the character.

  • NSFW is something I like, but I don't want to write pure smut. I aim for 70/30 plot to smut ratio. Kinklist below.

  • Don't Ghost I'm not going to be offended if you tell me you don't want to play anymore, but I will be extremely worried if you vanish without a word.

  • Discord is my platform of choice, I'm also open to Google Docs.

Night City Slickers
The year is 2077. Night City, once known as "the city of dreams" is a hellish metropolis, governed by corporate overlords and rival gangsters. The rest of us either scrounge for their scraps or become collateral for their games. And then there's us. The ones people don't like to talk about. Our resumes include smuggling, infiltration, corporate espionage, and sometimes even assassinations. Sure, it's not exactly legal, but the corpos don't care so long as it doesn't inconvenience them. We get the job done. Night City wouldn't operate without folks like us.

Justice at Any Cost
She was the city's deadliest assassin, bound to the whims of a terrorist organization. He was a demoted detective who had watched one too many murderers fall through the cracks of a corrupt legal system. Upon their first meeting, she should have killed him, but she hesitated. Their second meeting resulted in a pact-- to dish out some vigilante justice and keep the city safe.

Superman is a Bastard
This idea is based on Invincible and The Boys, in which the world's greatest hero (a shared NPC played by both of us) is upstanding and virtuous in public, but an irredeemable monster behind closed doors. He regularly degrades and abuses the rest of his team when the cameras are off, but there isn't a damn thing that can be done about it. He's just too powerful.
Aliens, interdimensional invaders, and supervillains run wild, but it's up to our little group of heroes to stop them, while also keeping this guy from destroying the world.

Win or Die
The year is 2187. Human consciousness can be downloaded into a computer, or a new body-- if you've got the cash. Naturally, this revolutionized gaming (along with everything else, but that's not important here).
You were one of the top ranked players in Viridium, a popular MMORPG, but something got fucked with the new update. Now you're trapped in a quarantine zone of the main game, with a small group of other people in the same situation. You were content to sit tight until the devs fixed things... But the game has other plans for you.

Lost in Space
It was supposed to be a quick job. Drop off some cargo, get paid, get lost. And now, inexplicably, you and your crew have been shunted across the universe, lightyears away from home. Along with the horrifying realization that you may never see your loved ones again, there are many, many other dangers lurking in the depths of space.

What Happens in Vegas
In modern day Las Vegas, there exists a secret community of magic users. Most are descended from a few main lineages, although new people crop up infrequently as well. These families are rife with intrigue, politics, and more than a few dark secrets. The murder of a powerful mage under suspicious circumstances sends waves through this community.

The New Slave
You are of noble birth, and your Lord father gifted you a slave for your birthday. Your opinions on slavery aside, she is more than she lets on. (Setting and story are open-ended for this prompt).

Witch Hunt
New York City, 1775. Tensions are coming to a head between the British forces and the colonists. Along with the normal colonial conflict, rumors abound that a secret cabal of sorcerers practice witchcraft in secret. You and I are among those who know it's all true.

New Vegas Escort Mission
Your character is hired to escort a Follower of the Apocalypse to the Strip, where an outbreak of syphilis has torn through the ranks of the Omertas. As it turns out, the “medicine” is contaminated with a bioweapon, and both the NCR and Legion are planning an attack on The Strip.

The Mandalorian
You had received this bounty puck two weeks ago. It had taken all that time just to get your papers in order and make your way to Coruscant. The shimmering spires of the capital city’s buildings were as dazzling as they were imposing. This was not your typical bounty… But the price would make it well worth the hassle. You could retire and live out your days in luxury with that kind of money. Or buy a small planet, if you wanted. That part didn’t matter yet, you hadn’t completed the mission.
Her name was Valise Hazan. She was human, 23 years old, working as a secretary for a senator, but the strange thing was, there was very little that stood out about her. You did, however, note the pretty gray eyes, keen and intelligent, contrasting nicely with her tanned skin. The way her cinnamon colored hair fell over her left shoulder, and the ghost of a mischievous smile on her full, pink lips. The things you would do to those lips given the opportunity...

Characters I have many more, these are just examples!

The Case Against Post Length Requirements

Have you ever written an essay wherein you write about 10 pages of fluff with no real meaning, just to pad out the three paragraphs of actual information just to satisfy a professor's fetish for some ludicrous word count? Did you find yourself replacing contractions with the full proper words just to increase your character count? Have you ever started reading a book just to realize that the writer filled the entire thing with needless descriptors and purple prose that makes you want to go to their house and smash the keyboard they wrote it on?If you answered yes to any of these questions (or didn't), you may be wondering what the fuck my point is. In this essay I will--Let's keep it simple. I'm just going to make a list of my reasons for keeping RP posts short.

  • More character interactions. If you want to write on your own, why RP?

  • Limits your time spent awkwardly trying to cram several actions or dialogue lines into one post because your partner is already onto the next scene and you haven't gotten a word in.

  • On that same note, it limits "double speaking". Having two (or more) conversations with the same character at once because you're responding to multiple lines.

  • Keeps everyone interested. If I get a post a week, I'm going to forget what was going on.

  • Nobody likes cramming in useless details just to pad your word count because your post looks "skinny".

  • When the inspiration comes, you can still write a small novel. I love reading/writing long detailed responses! Just not all the time.

  • The pressure to meet a certain requirement makes the game less fun. Real life is stressful. RP shouldn't be.
